Greetings Friends

Just to let you know: from the 15th June
I will be taking a break in Portugal, however
I will, as time allows, keep posting updates.

What with the World Cup and all, I know I
am going to be very occupied at times, plus
enjoying the weather, the food, the wine and
friends; it's going to be a hectic time, I know,
it's tough, but someone has to do it, so it might
as well be me.

Take care

Antonio

Good morning all

Still in Portugal...weather fantastic, food and wine
is equally fantastic. I am presently in the house
writing this, all windows are open, a nice faint breeze
is wafting through which is very invigurating, and
I have the radio on, tuned to a classic station, it is
at this moment playing Mozart. As I look out through
the window I can see the Portuguese flag moving
slightly in the sluguishly in the breeze. Due to the
presently on going World cup, taking place in South
Africa (soccer) the whole country is awash with support
for the Portuguese Team, and their way of publicly
showing it, is to fly the flag. Actually, at 12.30 today
Portugal is playing North Korea, and there's great
optimism that they are going to win, but, time will tell;
if they win there will quite some celebrating!

Anyway, just keeping in touch from the old Homestead.

Cheers or should I say, Bom Dia!

Antonio

Greetings

Today it's the first day of Summer, 21st June, it is
also the longest day of the year in Europe. And it
really has been a true Summer's day, and then to
top it up, the result for of the match today was very
rewarding, Portugal 7-0 North Korea. The country
was/is celebrating in every imaginable way, and
today's result gives the Portuguese Team a very
good chance when they meet Brazil next Friday,
even if they draw, they still win because they are
leading in goals.

I must say this has lifted the whole country's spirits,
I think that for a while they have even forgoten,
unemployment and the termoil of the world financial
situation which also has been affecting Portugal as
they are not immune to the world ressession.

Cheers

Greetings

Today is the day Portugal meets Brazil in the
World Cup Soccer Tornament: it's an event
which has created a lot hype and exitement,
and I can say without a shadow of a doubt
that both countries are very hopeful, but one
may come to be disapointed, but Portugal and
Brazil are friends now and they will remain
friends after, but non the less, there is a healthy
rivalary between the two of them. They know
soccer is only a sport to be enjoyed!

Talk with you later.

Cheers

Greetings

So, with Portugal 0-0 Brazil, they both go
through to the next phase, and I think
on Mon Brazil meets Uruguay and Portugal
will meet Spain I think on Tues. Both opponents
for Brazil and Portugal will pose tough games,
thus very interesting to watch I'm sure, whoever
wins!

Cheers

Greetings

Talk about surprises in this World Cup! to see
Brazil eliminated by Holand sure was one of the
biggest surprises, and no doubt there'll be more
in store to be revealed.

Now only three of the European heavy weights
remain, Holand, Germany and Spain...it sure is
amazing!

Cheers

Greetings

Temperatures here yesterday reachded 34 degrees
C, but today it is set to rize to 39-40 with warm
breezes. Not a day for the beach at all, far too hot!

I am sitting in front of a cooler that's going full blast.
I am still not complaining though.

Cheers

Greetings

Back Home in Ireland now and the temperaqture
here is a very confortable 15 degrees C. On
arrival I found plenty of work to do, as flower beds
are full of weeds, the lawns are overgrown and
correspondence sure pilled up, but tomorrow is
another day, and I will take in steps every day until
I have evrything looking good again.

Cheers

Greetings

Last night the World Cup Tornament
came to a closure, with the final game
between Spain and Holland, with the
final score after 30 minutes extra time
at Spain 1-0 Holland. I have never seen
so may yellow cards being given, mostly
to Holland, but Spain had their fair share
as well; there should have been at least 4
red cards awarded to Holland which would
have meant they would have ended the
match with 7 active players, they eventually
though ended up with having one red card,
but this came very near the end. This was
an interesting World Cup, to say the least!

The next World Cup in 4 years will take
place in Brazil

Cheers
